vivo is preparing to add a new member to its Y series, which caters to the budget-friendly market. The model number (V2434) of the device, expected to be called vivo Y29 4G, has appeared in the GSMA device certification database. This indicates that the phone will be released soon.

Although no official announcement has been made yet, the specs of the Y29 4G are expected to be similar to the previously released vivo Y28 4G. For comparison, the Y28 4G comes with a 6.68-inch HD+ display with a 90Hz refresh rate and 1000 nits peak brightness.
The MediaTek Helio G85 chipset offers up to 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage. There is also microSD card support for up to 1TB. The device will be powered by a 6000mAh battery with 44W fast charging support and has IP54 water and dust resistance certification.
On the camera side, the Y28 4G features a dual rear camera setup consisting of a 50 Megapixel main sensor and a 2 Megapixel depth sensor. On the front, there’s an 8 Megapixel selfie camera with a waterdrop notch.
On the software side, it comes out of the box with Android 14-based Funtouch OS 12. The Y29 4G is likely to have similar features. Details such as pricing and release date are not yet clear, but it is expected to be around 200 dollars.
